A catch-all e-mailbox is one that captures all the messages sent to inactive addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date address or has made a spelling mistake. The drawback of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited messages, but this issue can be resolved by using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also vital to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound emails to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

Creating a catch-all email mailbox will be truly easy in case you have a Linux shared package with our company. You can enable this feature through our advanced, yet user-friendly Email Manager tool, which is integrated into the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage your account. You’ll see all the email addresses that you’ve set up enumerated in alphabetical order and on the right-hand side of each one of them there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will quickly let you know if a certain mailbox gets all the emails pertaining to a given domain name or not. With a single mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable this option at any time. In case there is active email forwarding or in case another mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a particular domain name, you’ll get a notification from our system. The latter will not disable/replace anything automatically or without your approval.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

A catch-all address can be created with several mouse clicks in case you have a Linux semi-dedicated hosting package with us. The semi-dedicated account will be administered through our in-house created Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to create email addresses using any domain name registered there. To activate the catch-all option for a specific mailbox, you’ll have to click the button with the exact same name, which will be next to each mailbox. Deactivating this option can be done in the very same manner and will not take more than a click either. In case a catch-all mailbox has already been activated for a certain domain name, you will get a warning text message. The same goes if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never edit or deactivate any feature automatically.
